Generics: Rabeprazole Sodium
Used For: Acidity & Ulcers
How It Works:
Rabeprazole is a proton-pump inhibitor (PPI) that belongs to a class of antisecretory compounds known as substituted benzimidazoles. It suppresses gastric acid secretion by specifically inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme in the gastric parietal cells. This inhibition reduces both basal and stimulated acid secretion, regardless of the stimulus.
