How It Works:
Relispa Tablets contain drotaverine hydrochloride, a derivative of papaverine. It provides antispasmodic effects by inhibiting phosphodiesterase enzymes in smooth muscles, which helps relieve muscle contractions.

Dosage: Drotaverine HCl
Side Effects:
Gastrointestinal Disorders: Rarely includes nausea and constipation.
Nervous System Disorders: Rare cases of headache, dizziness, and insomnia.
Cardiac Disorders: Rare instances of palpitations and hypotension.
Immune System Disorders: Rare allergic reactions, such as local swelling, hives, rash, and itchy skin.
Drug Interactions:
Inhibitors of phosphodiesterase, such as papaverine and its derivatives.
Levodopa.
Indication:
For the treatment of smooth muscle contractions causing recurrent stomach pain in the gastrointestinal tract, gall bladder, and urinary tract.
When Not to Use:
If allergic to drotaverine or any of the other ingredients.
In cases of severe kidney, liver, or heart failure.
During breastfeeding.
Contraindicated for children under the age of 1.

Precaution:
Consult your doctor before taking drotaverine. Use with caution in patients with hypotension; administer intravenously to patients lying down to avoid collapse.

Drotaverine is associated with acute attacks of porphyria and should not be used in patients with porphyria.
