How It Works:
Famotidine reduces the amount of acid in the stomach, thereby alleviating pain and aiding in the healing of ulcers.
Reducid Tablets Usage and Safety:
Dosage: Famotidine
Side Effects:
Common: Headache, dizziness, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, dry mouth, fever, fatigue.
Less Common: Irregular or rapid heartbeat, palpitations, muscle pain, cramps, joint pain, hallucinations, confusion, agitation, depression, anxiety, insomnia, tingling in fingers or toes, decreased sex drive, seizures.
Other: Breathing difficulties (due to airway narrowing), ringing in the ears, taste disorders.
Drug Interactions:
Ketoconazole, itraconazole
Probenecid, sucralfate, warfarin, theophylline
Phenytoin, diazepam, propranolol

Indication:
Treatment of stomach and duodenal ulcers (peptic ulcers) and prevention of recurrence.
Treatment of Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome (a condition with excessive stomach acid production).
When Not to Use:
Do not use if allergic to famotidine or any of its ingredients. Allergic reactions may include shortness of breath, swelling of the tongue or face, rash, and itchiness.

Precaution:
For patients with duodenal or benign gastric ulcers, check H. pylori status. If H. pylori is present, consider eradication therapy.
Reducid Tablets Warnings:
Warning 1:
Do not stop taking the medication without consulting your doctor, even if symptoms improve.
Warning 2:
Famotidine should be avoided in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to other H2-receptor antagonists due to potential cross-sensitivity.
Warning 3:
Famotidine is primarily excreted through the kidneys. Use with caution in patients with renal insufficiency, and consider dose reduction if creatinine clearance is below 10 ml/min.
