Dosage: Itopride Hydrochloride
Side Effects:
Common: Dizziness, headache, tremor, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, nausea, increased saliva
Uncommon: Jaundice, rash, redness, itching, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia
Rare: Anaphylactoid reaction, gynecomastia, increased prolactin level
Drug Interactions: Caution with narrow therapeutic index drugs, anti-ulcer drugs (e.g., cimetidine, ranitidine), anticholinergic drugs.
Indication: Treatment of functional, nonulcer dyspepsia symptoms such as bloating, early satiety, upper abdominal pain, heartburn, nausea, and vomiting.
When not to Use: Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to itopride or those where increased gastrointestinal motility could be harmful.
