Requires Prescription: Yes
Generics: Dimenhydrinate
Used For: Nausea and vomiting
How it works: The exact mechanism of dimenhydrinate’s antiemetic, anti-motion sickness, and antivertigo effects is not completely understood. It is believed to be related to its central anticholinergic activity. It may also influence the medullary chemoreceptor trigger zone and inhibit vestibular stimulation, affecting the otolith system and, at higher doses, the semicircular canals.
