Eskem Capsules 40mg (1 Strip = 7 Capsules)

Eskem Capsules require a prescription and contain Esomeprazole, which is used for treating acidity and ulcers. Esomeprazole works by irreversibly binding to the H+/K+ ATPase in the proton pump, which is the final pathway for hydrochloric acid secretion in the stomach. This binding significantly decreases acid secretion and alters gastric pH. Common side effects include headaches, gastrointestinal upset, skin reactions, and dry mouth. Rare side effects may include angioedema, anaphylaxis, and fundic gland polyps. Drug interactions include Phenytoin, Warfarin, Clopidogrel, and several others. Eskem is indicated for heartburn, GERD, gastritis, and ulcers but should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to PPIs. Long-term use may lead to vitamin B12 deficiency, hypomagnesemia, or an increased risk of osteoporosis-related fractures. Avoid using Esomeprazole with Clopidogrel.
