How to Use Accu-Chek Active Blood Glucose Meter

It is important to test the blood glucose levels to manage diabetes. The Accu-Chek Active blood glucose meter makes it easy and convenient by giving hassle-free, accurate, and fast results in just four simple steps. 

Follow these steps to check your blood glucose:

1. Insert the glucose test strip into the device
2. Prick your finger with the lancet to draw out a drop of blood
3. Carefully touch the drop of blood onto the green field of the glucose test strip
4. Read the blood glucose results on the device

Measuring time

• Approximately 5 seconds (blood application with test strip within the meter)
• Approximately 8 seconds (blood application with test strip outside the meter)

Storage Conditions Without Battery

• -25 to + 70 °C (-13 °F to +158 °F)

Memory Capacity

• Up to 500 values with date and time

Warning

Dosing Options

Blood can be applied to the already inserted test strip or a test strip outside the meter. Outside of the meter dosing is helpful to minimize the risk of contamination when a meter has multiple users (e.g. in a hospital) and, in case of alternative site testing, to facilitate blood application.

Re-Dosing Capability

Additional blood can be added to the test strip within 10 seconds after applying the first drop (applies for inside mode)

Cleaning of the Meter

To clean the meter, follow these steps:

• If the meter is dirty, it is important to clean it. 
• Use only cold water to clean the meter. 
• You should clean the device using a lightly moistened cloth or a lightly moistened cotton swab.
• Do not place the device in the water or spray anything onto the device.
