Amlodipine relaxes the blood vessels and increases the supply of blood and oxygen to the heart while reducing its workload. Valsartan blocks the substance in the body that is responsible for constriction of blood vessels

Amlodipine and Valsartan combination is utilized for the following therapeutic indications:

• Management of hypertension
• Reduction of the risk of cardiovascular events
• Improvement of overall cardiovascular health
• Support in controlling blood pressure levels
• Enhancement of kidney function in hypertensive patients
• Alleviation of symptoms associated with heart failure
• Reduction of left ventricular hypertrophy

To be taken as per doctor’s prescription

Symptoms of overdose include chest discomfort, clammy skin, weak pulse, flushing, fainting or slow heartbeat. Consult a doctor immediately after overdose

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next scheduled dose then the missed dose can be skipped.

Take this medicine with a full glass of water after meals or on an empty stomach

Do not take in case of:

• pregnancy
• allergy to one or both salts
• you have diabetes and are using aliskiren

Common side effects include:

• swelling in feet and hands
• spinning sensation
• symptoms of cold and flu

Serious symptoms that require medical attention include

• high blood potassium leading to arrhythmia
• liver and heart problems

Your healthcare provider needs to know if you have any of these conditions:

• liver or kidney disease
• a heart attack
• angioedema due to another BP medicine
• vomiting or a lot of diarrhea

Drugs that can interact with Amlodipine and Valsartan include:

• cyclosporine
• sildenafil
• rifampin
• ritonavir
• diuretics
• herbal formulations
