Unix 100 mg (Nimesulide) Tab 20’s

This medicine is used in the management of painful inflammatory conditions. It contains Nimesulide, an NSAID, which inhibits the formation of the enzyme cyclooxygenase (COX). This inhibition leads to a decrease in molecules that trigger inflammation.

NSAID

This medicine is used to treat pain and inflammation associated with:

• Osteoarthritis
• Postoperative trauma
• Sports injuries
• Ear, nose, and throat disorders
• Dental surgery
• Bursitis/tendinitis (inflammation of tendons and surrounding area between tendon and bone)
• Thrombophlebitis (vein blockage due to blood clots)
• Pharyngitis (throat inflammation)
• Primary dysmenorrhoea

Take as per doctor’s prescription. The dosage depends on what your doctor suggests to you, based on your age, weight, and immune system condition. Do not stop the medication abruptly:

• Adult Dosage

The starting dosage is 100mg daily for adults. The doctor may need to adjust the dose.

• Child Dosage

Dosages for children are 5 mg/kg of body weight and 2 or 3 divided doses.

If you think you have used too much of this medicine, talk to your doctor. Seek medical emergency help immediately.

If you miss a dose, make sure to take it as soon as possible the same day. If you don’t remember missing the dose, don’t double it. Consult your doctor on how to adjust the missing doses.

Take the tablets daily as your doctor has recommended. Take the medication regularly and simultaneously each day to get the most benefit from it. Do not take more of it, do not take it more often, and do not take it for a longer time than your doctor ordered.

Do not take this medication if:

• You are an alcoholic.
• You have any drug addiction.
• You have coagulation issues.
• You are a pregnant or lactating mother.
• You have active peptic ulcers and moderate to severe hepatic impairment

Common side effects include:

• Acidic or sour stomach
• Stomach discomfort and cramps
• Dizziness
• Skin rash
• Nausea and Vomiting
• Elevated Liver enzymes
• Blood clotting disorders
• Diarrhea

Follow these precautions and warnings before starting the medication:

• Talk to your doctor if you have any allergic reaction or known hypersensitivity to any medicine components.
• Tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver impairment, stomach disorder, or heart disease.
• Do not self-medicate.
