U-Progest 100mg (Progesterone) Cap 30’s

U-Progest capsule is used in hormone replacement therapy. It contains progesterone which prepares the endometrium for pregnancy after ovulation and causes the lining to thicken for a fertilized egg. Additionally, it forbids the uterine muscles from contracting in a way that would prompt the body to reject an egg.

Progestins

U-Progest capsules are used for these purposes:

• As a part of hormone replacement therapy for postmenopausal women who have not undergone a hysterectomy.
• To stop the uterine lining from abnormal thickening due to estrogen.
• To lower the chance of ovarian cancer.
• To control a fertile woman’s menstrual cycle who had previously experienced a regular cycle but abruptly stopped menstruating.

Take one capsule every day or as per your doctor recommends.

If you think you have used too much of this medicine, talk to your doctor.

If you miss a dose, make sure to take it as soon as possible the same day. If you don’t remember missing the dose, don’t double it. Consult your doctor on how to adjust the missing doses.

This progesterone tablet is only for oral administration. Drink a full glass of water along with it. It is recommended to take this medication with food. Please adhere to your doctor’s recommendations regarding the dosage and mode of progesterone administration.

You should not use U-Progest Capsule if you have:

• Known hypersensitivity to the active substances, soybean lecithin, peanut, or to any of the medicine component
• Known or Past or suspected breast cancer
• Known or suspected estrogen-dependent malignant tumors (e.g genital tract carcinoma)
• Undiagnosed genital bleeding
• Women with rare hereditary blood disorders called porphyrias
• Women with severe liver disease.

Side Effects may include:

• Drowsiness
• Stomach upset or sugar-upset digestion
• Breast tenderness
• Hot Flashes
• Constipation/Diarrhoea
• Fatigue (when used in assisted conception)
• Disturbance of the menstrual cycle
• Increased mucus from the vagina or anus
• Vaginal pain
• Flatulence with the anorectal route

Before using U-Progest, talk to your doctor or chemist if you have or have ever had:

• Liver issues, such as jaundice, or the yellowing of the skin and eye whites.
• Seizures/Epilepsy
• Migraine
• Respiratory illness (asthma)
• Renal or cardiac dysfunction
• Diabetes

Talk to your doctor if you are taking other medication as well. Cyclogets may interact with drugs like:

• CYP450-3A4 such as barbiturates
• Anti-epileptic agents (phenytoin, carbamazepine)
• Rifampicin
• Phenylbutazone
• Bromocriptine
• Spironolactone, griseofulvin
• Some antibiotics (ampicillin, tetracyclines)
• Ciclosporin
• Aminoglutethimide
• Coumarins
• Anti-diabetic drugs
• Diazepam
• Tizanidine
• Terbinafine

Progesterone has no documented food interactions that affect its efficacy or safety.

Store the medicine at a controlled room temperature. Keep the medication away from bright lights, moisture, and children.
