How it Works: Itopride hydrochloride enhances gastrointestinal motility by antagonizing dopamine D2 receptors and inhibiting acetylcholinesterase. This increases acetylcholine release and reduces its degradation.

Drug Interactions: Exercise caution with drugs that have a narrow therapeutic index, sustained-release, or enteric-coated formulations. Anti-ulcer drugs (e.g., cimetidine, ranitidine) may diminish Itopride’s effectiveness. Anticholinergic drugs may counteract its action.
Indication: Itopride hydrochloride is indicated for treating gastrointestinal symptoms of functional, nonulcer dyspepsia (chronic gastritis), including bloating, early satiety, upper abdominal pain, heartburn, nausea, and vomiting.
When Not to Use: Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Itopride hydrochloride or its excipients. Not recommended for conditions where increased gastrointestinal motility could be harmful.
