What is it prescribed for?
- Hypocalcemia
This medicine is used to treat a deficiency of calcium in the blood (low blood calcium levels).
- Hypophosphatemic vitamin D-resistant rickets and osteomalacia
This medicine is used to treat rickets and osteomalacia (bone diseases characterized by bone softening and weakening) associated with low levels of phosphate ions in the blood.

When not to use?
Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to Bone-Lift tablet 0.5 mcg 30’s or any other inactive ingredients present along with it.
Hypercalcemia
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with elevated levels of calcium in the blood due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient’s condition.
Warnings
Pregnancy
This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless absolutely necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before taking/receiving this medicine.
Breast-feeding
This medicine is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless absolutely necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before taking/receiving this medicine. If the medicine is used, the infant should be monitored closely for any undesirable side effects.
Hypercalcemia
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with elevated levels of calcium in the blood (hypercalcemia). Blood calcium levels should be checked before beginning therapy with this medicine. Close monitoring of blood calcium levels is recommended during treatment with this medicine as well. Appropriate corrective measures and/or replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary based on the clinical condition of the patient.
Hypervitaminosis D
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with high levels of Vitamin D in the body. Appropriate corrective measures, dose adjustments, and/or replacement with a suitable alternative should be considered based on the clinical condition of the patient.
Other Vitamin D products
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients receiving other supplements or drugs containing vitamin D as an ingredient due to the increased risk of serious adverse effects. It is advised that you report to the doctor all your current medicines including any herbs and supplements before beginning therapy with this medicine.
Cardiovascular diseases
This medicine should be used with caution in patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases due to the increased risk of worsening of the patients’ condition. This risk is especially higher if the medicine is used for a prolonged period of time. Close monitoring of clinical condition, appropriate dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary based on the clinical condition of the patient.

- Missed Dose
Oral forms: Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next scheduled dose, then the missed dose can be skipped. Do not use extra medicine to make up for the missed dose. Injections: Since this medicine is usually administered in the clinical/hospital setting by a qualified healthcare professional, the likelihood of a missed dose is very low. If you miss an appointment for receiving this medicine, contact your doctor immediately for further instructions.
- Overdose
Discontinue the use of this medicine and consult your doctor immediately if an overdose is suspected. Consumption of Vitamin D rich food or supplements along with this medicine may also cause an overdose.

what are the adverse effects of Bone-Lift tablet 0.5 mcg 30’s?
Symptoms of overdose include anorexia, lassitude, nausea and vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation, weight loss, polyuria, sweating, headache, thirst, vertigo, rash, pruritus and raised concentration of calcium and phosphate in plasma and urine.
What happens if I miss a dose of Bone-Lift tablet 0.5 mcg 30’s?
Adults: Orally or by IV injection over 30 sec. Initially 1 mcg daily. Elderly: 500 nanogram daily. Adjusted to avoid hypercalcaemia. Maintenance, usually 1 mcg daily.
Children: Orally or by IV injection over 30 sec. Hypophosphataemic rickets; persistent hypocalcaemia due to hypoparathyroidism or pseudohypoparathyroidism: 1 mth-12 yr, 25-50 nanogram/kg (max 1 mcg) once daily, adjusted as necessary; 12-18 yr, 1 mcg once daily, adjusted as necessary.
Persistent neonatal hypocalcaemia: Neonate, 50-100 nanograms/kg once daily, adjusted as necessary (up to 2 mcg/kg daily may be needed in resistant cases).
Prevention of vitamin D deficiency in renal or cholestatic liver disease: Neonate, 20 nanograms/kg once daily, adjusted as necessary; 1 mth-12 yr, Body-weight under 20 kg, 15-30 nanograms/kg (max 500 nanograms) once daily; body-weight over 20 kg, 250-500 nanograms once daily, adjusted as necessary; 12-18 yr, 250-500 nanograms once daily, adjusted as necessary.
