Amlodipine relaxes the blood vessels and increases the supply of blood and oxygen to the heart while reducing its workload. Valsartan blocks the substance in the body that is responsible for constriction of blood vessels. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic (water pill). It reduces the amount of water in the body by increasing the flow of urine, which helps lower the blood pressure.

Symptoms of overdose include chest discomfort, clammy skin, weak pulse, flushing, fainting or slow heartbeat. Consult a doctor immediately after overdose

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next scheduled dose then the missed dose can be skipped.

Take this medicine with a full glass of water after meals or on an empty stomach

Do not take in case of:

• pregnancy
• allergy to one or both salts
• you have diabetes and are using aliskiren

• Jaw pain
• Arm pain
• Abdominal pain
• Diarrhoea
• Constipation
• Vomiting and nausea

• This medication may cause birth defects, so if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, inform your doctor immediately.

Following are food interactions for Amlodipine, Valsartan, Hydrochlorothiazide:

• High-sodium foods reduce effectiveness and low-sodium diet is recommended.
• Monitor intake of potassium-rich foods to avoid high potassium levels; be cautious with supplements.
• Grapefruit juice may increase side effects.
• Alcohol can enhance side effects so limit its consumption.
• High-fat meals have no direct interaction but a balanced diet is beneficial.
