How it Works:
Esomeprazole inhibits the proton pump (H+/K+ ATPase) in the stomach, significantly reducing the production of hydrochloric acid and increasing gastric pH.

Dosage: Esomeprazole
Side Effects: Common side effects include headache, gastrointestinal upset, skin reactions, and dry mouth. Rare effects may include angioedema, anaphylaxis, and fundic gland polyps.
Drug Interactions: Caution with phenytoin, warfarin, clopidogrel, ketoconazole, itraconazole, voriconazole, diazepam, citalopram, imipramine, clomipramine, CYP3A4 inhibitors or inducers, tacrolimus, digoxin, erlotinib, methotrexate.
Indication:
Used for the treatment of heartburn, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), gastritis, and ulcers.
When Not to Use:
Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). Be cautious of hypersensitivity reactions such as angioedema, anaphylaxis, bronchospasm, acute interstitial nephritis, and urticaria.
Myeso Tablets Precautions:
Long-term use (e.g., longer than 3 years) may lead to malabsorption or deficiency of cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12).
Myeso Tablets Warnings:
Warning 1: Rare cases of hypomagnesemia have been reported with prolonged PPI therapy.
Warning 2: Long-term or high-dose PPI therapy may increase the risk of osteoporosis-related fractures.
Warning 3: Avoid using Esomeprazole with clopidogrel.
