Seek medical attention in case you overdose on this medicine

Try not to miss a dose. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. Then continue your normal schedule. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses.

To be taken with a glass of water

Do not use this medication if you are:

• Allergy to cephalexin or other cephalosporins
• Severe kidney impairment
• History of severe allergic reactions to penicillins
• Gastrointestinal issues like colitis
• Pregnancy without medical consultation
• Breastfeeding without medical advice
• History of seizures or epilepsy

Common side effects include:

• Black, tarry stools
• Chills, fever or cough
• Dark urine along with painful urination
• Stomach issues

Make sure to consult a doctor in case you already have:

• Malabsorption problems
• Alcohol abuse
• Allergy to Beta-lactamase inhibitors
• Kidney, liver, bowel or blood diseases.
• Severe anaphylactic or allergic reaction
• If symptoms do not improve
• Severe diarrhea
• Skin reactions

Do not use this medication if you are on:

• Blood thinners such as heparin
• Furosemide
• Aminoglycosides
• Methotrexate
• Tetracyclines
• metformin
• Zinc

The food interactions that should be considered while using Cephalexin are:

• No significant interactions with food.
• Taking with food may help reduce gastrointestinal upset.
