How It Works:
Stomacol Tablets have antiemetic effects due to a combination of peripheral (gastrokinetic) actions and antagonism of dopamine receptors in the chemoreceptor trigger zone, which is located outside the blood-brain barrier in the area postrema.

Indication:
Used for the treatment of nausea and vomiting.
When Not to Use:
Domeperidone is contraindicated in:
Patients with moderate to severe hepatic impairment
Patients with existing prolongation of cardiac conduction intervals (particularly QTc) or significant electrolyte disturbances
Patients with underlying cardiac conditions such as congestive heart failure

Precaution:
Epidemiological studies suggest that domperidone may be associated with an increased risk of serious ventricular arrhythmias or sudden cardiac death.
Stomacol Tablets Warnings:
Warning 1:
Patients older than 60 years should consult their physician before taking domeperidone maleate.
Warning 2:
Due to the increased risk of ventricular arrhythmia, domeperidone maleate is not recommended for patients with existing cardiac conduction interval prolongation, particularly QTc, or significant electrolyte disturbances.
Warning 3:
Treatment should be discontinued if signs or symptoms of cardiac arrhythmia occur, and patients should promptly consult their physician.
