Generics: Rabeprazole Sodium
Used For: Acidity & Ulcers
How It Works: Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that reduces gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the H+ /K+ ATPase enzyme in the parietal cells of the stomach. This suppression of acid production is effective regardless of the type of stimulus, and it does not involve anticholinergic or histamine H2-receptor mechanisms.
